The courses

Compliance courses built for the cleaning industry

Every course on Jiffy is written specifically for cleaning operatives and cleaning business owners. The language is plain, the examples are real, and the content reflects the actual risks and regulations that apply to your industry — not a generic workplace.

Core compliance courses are free for every account, with no limit on the number of staff who can complete them. Pro and Ultimate accounts unlock additional courses and the ability to create your own.

Frequently asked questions

Questions cleaning businesses ask us

Is COSHH training really a legal requirement for cleaning businesses?
Yes. Under the COSHH Regulations 2002, any employer whose staff use hazardous substances — including cleaning chemicals — must provide adequate training and maintain records. Most cleaning chemicals carry CLP hazard symbols, which means training is required by law.
Will Jiffy certificates be accepted by my clients or inspectors?
Jiffy certificates document completion of HSE-aligned training. We recommend checking specific requirements with your client or contract, as acceptance can vary. We are pursuing CPD accreditation and BICSc endorsement to strengthen certificate credibility further.
How long does it take to get my team trained and certified?
Account setup takes around 5 minutes. Each course takes between 20–45 minutes to complete. A team of 10 can all be assigned and working through their training within the hour. Certificates are issued immediately on completion.
Can my staff complete training on their mobile phone?
Yes. Jiffy is fully mobile-optimised. Staff can complete courses on any device — phone, tablet or desktop — at any time. This is important given that most cleaning staff work part-time and irregular hours.
How often do staff need to renew their COSHH training?
There is no fixed legal renewal period, but industry best practice is annual renewal. Jiffy tracks certificate expiry dates and sends automatic renewal reminders — available on Pro and Ultimate plans — so you never have to chase this manually.
What if I have staff who speak English as a second language?
Our courses are written in plain, accessible English with clear visuals. Multilingual course versions are on our roadmap. If language accessibility is critical to your business, please contact us — we welcome early input from businesses with diverse teams.
Is the free plan really free — what's the catch?
There is no catch. The free plan is genuinely free, with no time limit and no credit card required. We sustain the platform through industry sponsorships, our supplier marketplace, and paid Pro and Ultimate upgrades for businesses that need more. See our How it's free section for full transparency.
Can I create my own training content for site-specific inductions?
Yes, on the Ultimate plan. You can build bespoke training pathways for specific client sites, combining Jiffy's compliance courses with your own induction materials, method statements, and site-specific procedures.
Do I need to keep paper records as well as digital ones?
No. Digital records maintained on Jiffy are a valid and appropriate form of compliance documentation. You can export reports as PDFs at any time, which are suitable for client audits, HSE inspections, and insurance purposes.
What happens if an HSE inspector visits one of my sites?
You can generate and export a full compliance report from Jiffy in seconds, showing all staff, the courses they have completed, dates of completion, and certificate status. This is exactly the documentation an HSE inspector would expect to see.
